The eLearning Guild has released the 2018 Global eLearning Salary & Compensation Report. Based on data received from 3,341 respondents across 76 countries, worldwide compensation for eLearning professionals increased, with 2018 reporting the highest-ever average salary of $79,834, up 1.3% from 2017. Average salaries vary dramatically based on worldwide location, ranging from $84,421 in the US to $38,534 in India.

The report, free to all members of The eLearning Guild, is broken down by location, gender, industry, company size, education level, job focus area, and other variables. Also included in the report are factors influencing total compensation that you can use as an individual or manager to assess potential changes in compensation.

United States Salary Trends

In the United States, the average salary was reported at $84,421, an increase of 1.5% over 2017, and the field had a healthy climb of 5.6% growth in average salaries over the past seven years. Salary growth rates are exceeding the rate of inflation.

Based on the past annual changes in salary, the mathematical forecast from the data shows a small possible dip in 2019 salaries. However, if demand for eLearning professionals continues to grow and the economy is relatively stable, it is likely that both the US and global mathematical data predictions will be incorrect and worldwide salaries will continue to climb.
